So I went shopping again yesterday with Christmas gift cards and money and such so hopefully I will be putting more pictures up really soon! But tomorrow's my birthday so maybe not tomorrow. :)

Fashion...
Forget about me putting the outfits up in a couple of days! Here they are in a like, an hour! Also, excuse my hair. I took a shower like, an hour and a half ago and it hasn't quite dried yet.
Alright so I kept the same jeans on the whole time because I was lazy and didn't want to keep changing them. The shirt and jeggings are from American Eagle. This is one of those under-over technique shirts. I have a tank top over the brace and under the shirt. It's black. You could add a cool colored one underneath it to give it a little more color.
Everyone likes a good old Superman shirt every once in a while right? For this, there is a tank top underneath. The same black one, but I tucked it in. I thought I looked cooler that way. :) The shirt I found at Plato's Closet. Gosh, I love that store.
This is one of those shirts that I'm really not sure how to wear. The shrug and the shirt are from American Eagle. This is yet another one with the under-over technique. I kept the same black tank top on for all three of these. Sometimes if you want to add a little bit of a pop of color to your outfits, you can add like a neon green or pink shirt underneath. I have a green-yellow one that might look cool under this that's from Aeropostale.
So that's about it for right now! I'll do some more tomorrow 'cause this girl's off school for two weeks! Yay! :)
Fly on for now,

CHRISTMAS! :D
I LOVE CHRISTMAS! Seriously guys it's like my favorite time of the year. There's no school, no stress, SNOW, free time, people are nicer, hot chocolate, staying inside and reading books, feeling really good, Christmas, making people feel good, New Year's, my birthday, and so many other things! Let's not forget about marshmallows.
Christmas is a time to give and get. It's a time to be thankful and to be someone that someone else is thankful for. And, as much as we all hate it, we need to be thankful for our brace.
Yes, I know, you're probably all like, "No I don't!"
Well, actually, you do ya little grunge nuggets!
I'm gonna tell y'all a story and y'all are gonna like it.
There once was a girl by the name of Ann Marie. Ann Marie had a special friend. She was special in many ways. She was Ann Marie's best friend (and still is, I suppose). She was also a little bit special in the brain (I mean, she HAS broken the oven, the microwave, her door, and many other things in her house).
Now, this girl had a sister, who is now a senior at the high school where Ann Marie and her special friend are freashmeat. This girl had scoliosis. But guess what? I'm gonna tell you a story within a story (wow! such a plot twist!).
The sister's mother thought that the sister might have scoliosis because she could see that when she sat, her back wasn't straight. So she went to the doctor and the doctor checked her out and said that she didn't have scoliosis. Then, SIX FUDGING MONTHS before the sister was to be done growing, the doctor said, "Oops! I was a dumb butt! She does have scoliosis. And very bad scoliosis at that!"
So the sister got a brace and wore it every night for six months until she was done growing.
And now my best friend's sister's worst curve is 49 degrees because her doctor cannot see well (or at least, that's what I choose to believe).
And that, ladies and gents, is why we need to be glad that we have scoliosis braces. These things help us in more ways than I think we realize. Not only do they help straighten your back, but they help everything. Your back is the big connector to everything else in your body. So if your curve gets bad, it affects other things in your body. This can be life threatening.
We need to be thankful we have a brace or have had surgery or whatever to prevent these bad things from happening. We need to be thankful we don't live somewhere where we can't get ahold of this kind of stuff. Because honestly, it is helping us a lot. We need to be thankful that we have the help of doctors and hospitals to help us stay safe and happy. And I know that as much as you may hate it now, you'll be really thankful in the future. :)
ILY,
Ann Marie *>*
P.S. Gosh! I do a lot of these! But within the next couple of days I will probably be uploading some photos of outfits because I finally got to go shopping again and I'm so happy! :D

Well...
So sorry for the LONG wait! High school is literally crazy. It is my most favorite and least favorite thing in the history of "things". But that's life.
I've finally found a free moment so I am going to write! Not much has happened. I think since I've posted, I've been to the back doctor. My curves (from bottom to top) are 15,30, and 35. Not bad but not good. It's okay though. He said no talk of surgery- especially for someone like me who hides it so well. I really have not had any problems with back or brace pain ever.
I have only ever had one brace- Pablo. Pablo is literally my constant companion. He's with me 24/7. We have what you'd call a love hate relationship. :) Scoliosis doesn't really bother me anymore. At school, I’m very open. When I bring candy to some of my friends and people ask where I got it, I tell them I got it from the hospital (my mom works in the gift shop so we always go get candy after appointments). Everyone knows. And guess how many people care? None. Guess how many people can’t look at me the same again because I wear something plastic around me? NONE. When we go to the hospital and we have to carry my brace in so I can put it back on after my appointment, I carry it proudly. I smile and laugh in the hospital because I CAN. I like to think I'm assuring people with my smile, my body language. "Everything is going to be alright." And it will be. Everything will be alright in the end. Everything will end and really- does it even matter? Ugh. I'm getting very philosophical. Yeah that's what I get for being a nerd in school. :P
But I just wanted to tell you, it’s okay. And it’s okay to cry about having a brace too. I remember the first time we took Pablo home and I put him on, I told my mom I looked like a freak. I thought I did. BUT I DIDN’T. No one does. I just want everyone to know if you ever need someone who it may be easier to share with because you don’t know me personally (but someone who still understands), I am here. Or if you just wanna talk. Or if there’s something else. My email’s always over in my bio. Feel free to use it. I love friends!
Fly on for now,
Ann Marie *>*
P.S. Sorry this is super long! I just thought you guys deserved a lot for sticking with me and ma blog through our first few months of high school! Because you guys deserve the best of me! J ILY

For Anonymous...
So I had an awesome person ask me a question. Or, a few questions. So here are your answers. And the question.
"Hi do you mind putting up a pic of you in side view? And which kind of brace do you have and about how much did it cost? I'm planning to get one because my doctor said I have mild scoliosis. However she didn't suggest any corrective measures. But I don't want this to get worse that's why I'm planning to buy a brace."
- Anonymous
Well Anonymous, have I got some answers for you!
Ignore the horrible quality. Please and thank you! These are pictures of me in side view in my brace. Stunning aren't I? ;)
Here are the answers to your other questions:
I have an Original Boston Brace. Or at least that's what my brace says...
I do not know how much braces cost. That is something that I never asked and my parents.
I wish you the best of luck Anon with your brace adventures if you decide to get one! I really wish I would have had the idea you do with getting the brace before I actually did needed it. But oh well! :)

Stay Fit...
Okay so one really important thing to do once you find out you have scoliosis is to make that back work! Yeah, you do. You need to find something to keep that back of yours strong because a weak back is no good in a fight against scoliosis. Whereas a strong back could very well help you in more ways than one! You can dance, play a sport, run, do yoga; the choices are limitless! You just need to find one that fits you and your lifestyle.
The first way it could help you is pretty obvious, but not necessarily the main reason. Well to be frank about it... Making your back stronger makes you stronger. It makes you a stronger person physically. That can only be a good thing. Right?
Also, a stronger back means that you have a better fighting chance with scoliosis. I don't know all the medical stuff to go along with it but I just know that it helps- surprisingly a lot. I guess a stronger back means that it can hold it's own and when you grow, it will help straighten your spine even further. I don't know. I have no intention on becoming a doctor or anything to do with doctors so you can rub it in my face if I get something wrong, okay?
When I went to my scoliosis doctor I think maybe one or two times ago, he had an assistant with him. The woman must have been shadowing him or something, and in college or further by the looks of it. Dr. Bono, my doc, did his examination like he usually does, ya know, making me bend over and checking to make sure your hips and shoulders aren't uneven and stuff. And all of a sudden the lady speaks up and she sounds to be honest, quite shocked. She said, "Wow, you can't even tell that she has scoliosis as bad as hers is!" Okay so my scoliosis is just like in the twenties but you get the point. It's not GOOD is what she was saying. People with my same degrees usually show it a bit more than I do. In fact, without the brace, you can't tell I have it at all.
And you wanna know why that is? My mom replied to the lady, "She dances ballet." I dance about three hours of ballet bare minimum. At the most, I was dancing 6.5 hours per week. Ballet is just about the strongest thing you can do to strengthen your back. I'm not saying you need to take ballet or anything close to that. I'm simply saying don't just be a sitting duck, letting whatever happen to your back. Give yourself a fighting chance. Do something about it. Strengthening your back DOES help!
Stay strong, stay fit, stay beautiful!

Summer Clothes...
So... Summer clothes. To be honest, I don't really do much in the summer. I pretty much stare at the wall in my room and dread going anywhere that involves putting shoes on and acting civilized. But tonight I'm going to my dear friends graduation party. I have pretty much known her my entire life and she means a lot to me. She'll be heading over to Michigan to attend Rochester College in the fall and I will probably not see her much. :(
This is a red dress that I got from Plato's Closet. It is originally from Forever 21. It's a little too short to wear to church, but any other kind of event I would wear it to. I put the shrug thing on (SOMEBODY PLEASE TELL ME WHAT THOSE THINGS ARE CALLED) because you could kind of see the brace around it at different places. The shrug is from Marshall's.
This is a cute shirt of mine. I actually usually use this one for dance, but it's still cute! If you would wear something like this, make sure you have a same colored tank top as the brace either under or over the brace because you can see the brace and the tank top under the armpits. With these, just make sure you don't get them too tight in the back. The tank top is from Plato's Closet and the shorts are hand-me-downs from my friend.
I really wanted to wear this one without one of those shrug things but the brace shows in the back because it goes down way too far, and I was too lazy today to put a tank top on over the brace. Again, just watch to make sure that you have the same colored tank top on as your brace. The shirt and shrug are from American Eagle.
One thing I always do before I go out the door is give myself a twirl in the mirror. I look at myself from every angle so that I can tell that the brace is invisible to normal people.
If you ever need to get ahold of me, or want to ask me a question, here are the ways to get me:

Wow...
Another new YouTube video! I am on fire!
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=dmWbJBwYL2A
I also have some bad news. Season 8 of the amazing T.V. show Psych will be it's last. James Roday confirmed in an interview that it will end. :( I'm so sad! How will I live? How will I learn to love another T.V. show like I loved Psych?! If you have never see Psych, watch it. It is amazing. It's about a guy who works with the Santa Barbara Police Department, who believes he's a psychic. It's so hilarious! And if you know me, you know I am hilarious, and I love hilariousness. If that's a word. It's rarely ever inappropriate and it's really just an all around great show!
If you're interested, here's the website.

My Brace...
So I've shown you all this advice for dealing with things that deal with your brace, but I haven't really shown you my brace (unless you watched my YouTube videos). So here it is! It's name is Pablo. I named it so that early on when I used to despise it, I could yell at it like a person. Yeah, I really have no good reason for my actions... But that's past the point! Here it is!
Okay I seriously have no idea what is up with my picture thing today. But this is Pablo. It is an Original Boston Brace. I have only ever had one brace. I know you can get it in all sorts of CRAZY patterns and such, but I was very emotional right then and did NOT want this brace to think that it was a welcome thing in my life. And I picked white because mine sometimes sticks out the top of my tank tops on the left hand side so I wanted to be able to hide that pretty easily if I were wearing a white tank top. Just ignore the blue on the bottom of it. That's just because Pablo is getting old (in brace age, he is ANCIENT) and it's because I always wear blue skinny jeans so it rubbed onto my brace.

Outfits...
So I finally had the means and the time to do this. And I had to tell myself a few times to stop being so lazy... But ANYWAYS here it is!
This is a skirt, blouse, and whatever those cover-up things are called all from American Eagle.
You might have to put a tank top under the blouse but over the brace (which I do for see-through shirts all the time) because it is see-through. But see here, I have learned a very important thing about people. They have literally no depth perception when it comes to seeing past your first layer of clothing. They don't look at the tank to you have on underneath that cute shirt.
Alright this is the same skirt but I put a sweater on instead. You can either go for the cute, calm, and collected (and usually nerdy look that I wear oh-so often) that I showed you above, or the more I don't care about anything! look. I don't know. I think you'd look cute wearing it. So if anyone ever says, "Ew what are you wearing?!" You can say, "A random girl in Ohio thinks I'm cute!" Not catchy, eh?

The third is just a pair of skinny jeans from American Eagle with a tank top under the shirt but over the brace (I'm just gonna call that my "under-over style") and a crop top from an awesome thrift shop called Plato's Closet in my area. That's literally the only place I shop anymore. You can get anything for under $15 at thrift shops that could be double to triple the price at the name brand stores. The great thing is, they take all the name brands. I've gotten American Eagle and Hollister stuff there for $10 or less! I got a shirt for $1 once!
P.S. YES I do sleep with stuffed animals, and lots and lots of pillows and blankets. Thank you for noticing. ;)

(but if anyone has any idea how to get it to work, PLEASE contact me! Remember,
my email’s in my bio), I’m going to put some help on.
So one of the things I
struggled with was the idea of going to the bathroom in public. Sometimes this
isn’t a problem, if you’re not being hurried and you can actually take the
brace off. But I realized this doesn’t quite work when, oh, I don’t know… You’re
in the seventh grade, it’s May and you have five minutes to take a break from
the bus which is driving you to Chicago to go to the bathroom. That is not
enough time for me to do my business regularly, let along with a brace on. Here’s
what I came up with:
How to Go to the Bathroom with a Brace On
Step 1: Unbuckle the brace. Don’t undo it all the way by taking it
out of the straps and stuff. Just pull up on the little black clip thing or you
know whatever you do to un-clip it.
Step 2: Pull the black clip thing as far to the left as possible so
that your strap is as long as it possibly can be.
Step 3: Tuck the straps in! Trust me on this one guys. You will never
see your straps the same if you get them in toilet water… Personal experience
here… (shudders)
Step 4: Go to the bathroom! It might be a bit uncomfortable, but
trust me guys; it’s the best I’ve got. You might have to lean forward a bit.
That’s cool.
Step 5: Once you are done and are going to redo your brace straps,
you might have to pull your black clip or whatever you have back a bit (or
towards the right) so that you can pull the strap to your cut-off line. You can
use anything that semi reflects your image to help you with this. Or if no
strangers are in the bathroom, you could use the mirror. Or just ask a friend
or whoever if you’re at the line. But for me, I’ve had my brace for about a
year now and I can just feel when I’m at my line so I really don’t need a
mirror anymore, but I do it if possible just to check.
Hope this helps! J

New Blogs...
Guess what? New blogs! Yay!
First is Claire’s. Claire subscribed to my blog and emailed me
(remember I LOVE to get emails) and told me to check out her blog (which I OF
COURSE did). I love both of her blogs already to be honest. I’m not really the most up-to-date kind of
person on all these skin care products and make-up and I just
really like her blog! So cute! Go take a look!

And of course she has her scoliosis one too! :)

And also Natalie subscribed a while ago actually and so I decided I
would also share her blog!

Saturday Scoliosis Marathon...
And last but certainly not least- my Saturday time… 2 hours 10
minutes and 16 seconds! Congratulations guys! You just finished a Scoliosis
Marathon!
There’s also something else I wanted to bring up. Recently I’ve
started tightening my brace a little bit past my mark that Brian (my awesome
possum brace guy) marked for me to go to every day. Thanks Brian! :D Anyways I
realized that we just wasted about 6-9 hours every day (depending on how much
you sleep J) not noticing we have the brace
on. What would happen if we all just tightened the brace maybe an inch past
your stopping point each night right before you went to bed? I’m just putting
some CRAZY ideas in your heads here guys! Just saying…
Remember, if you ever need to talk, feel free to email me about
anything! I love getting emails! :D Email’s in my profile box there on the
right hand side.

Wednesday, Thursday, and Friday Scoliosis Marathon...
Right, so I’ve had some late nights and haven’t found any time to
post so here goes… My Wednesday time was 1 hour, 14 minutes and 5 seconds!
I don’t exactly know why I make different posts for every day if I’m
posting them all on the same day. So my Thursday time was 1 hour 32 minutes and
57 seconds.
My Friday time was 2 hours 26 minutes and 8 seconds.

Tuesday Scoliosis Marathon...
Sorry I didn’t put my times on yesterday. I had a really late dance
class (even later than usual) and I was a walking zombie. I still am really. So
my time for yesterday (with one 1 hour dance class and one hour and a half one)
comes to 1 hour, 44 minutes and 51 seconds! Keep going guys!
P.S. I'll have to find my Monday time. I put it around here somewhere... :)

April Scoliosis Marathon...
Well, yesterday actually marked the beginning of another Scoliosis
Marathon! I couldn’t post my time yesterday because my hog of a brother was
using it all day. -_- But my time was 39 minutes and 7 seconds! Yay! Remember if
you want to send in your times, I’d be happy to put them on! Just comment!

Update... Finally...
Oh my gosh! Guys I’m very sorry I haven’t updated in like, a month! A
couple of things happened. First, our computer totally crashed. So yeah… I
couldn’t really do anything with a crashed computer. And then there were a
couple of other things but I won’t bore you with those details. So the computer
is finally working again! Yay! I know I didn’t get to finish February and March’s
Scoliosis Marathons! I’m being so bad! But I did them on my own… Well yeah so
that’s about it right now!
Oh, well, apparently it’s not! I went back to my doctor (his name is
Dr. Bono) for my six month check-up thing for my back and brace. I have three
curves. My top one went from about 26 degrees to 32 degrees (not good). But
that’s the curve that’s really far up that the brace can’t control. Also my
brace guy (Brian), said that’s only you know, like, 5 degrees and in reality
those 5 degrees couldn’t be seen with the naked eye. It’s only a tiny change.
Then there’s the middle one that went from 25 degrees to 29 degrees (also not
good), but my bottom one went from 29 degrees to 21 degrees! Yay! I go back in
six more months for another check-up! I will try to remain faithful to wearing
my brace! I hope you all do too!

Sunday Scoliosis Marathon...
Alrighty ladies so my Sunday time was... 43 minutes and 37 seconds!
But seriously guys. I do this by just turning the stopwatch on my phone on
every time I take the brace off and then when I put it back on. Not really that
hard at all! I would encourage you all to do it and to tell our fellow fashionistas
to join in!

Here's the Deal...
So... Here’s the deal. This program is being very cantankerous and
won’t take my pictures... So for the time being, I’m going to have to do
something else until I get past this kink. I’m trying my hardest to figure it
all out, trust me!

Checking In...
Hey my lovely fans!
Well the deal is I KNOW we were supposed to do another Scoliosis
Marathon last week and I really meant to tell you guys sooner, but I wanted you
guys this month to just settle back into routine and contemplate who you really
want to be this year. I don’t know about you, but that first week after break
was HORRID! I was a walking zombie!
I’m home today instead of at school (where I REALLY want to be)
because last night in jazz I was doing an illusion (it’s kind of like a split
in the air with one foot on the ground) and something popped in, then out. It
has really been hurting and I can’t do anything properly at the moment, even
walk! So hence my home day. I’m listening to Les Miserables. J
So I also wanted to say, THANKS TO EVERYONE WHO HAS BEEN READING MY
BLOG! It’s been a long and thought out process and I really appreciate all of
you! Invite your friends to check me out! I’ve had fans from the U.S. to
Serbia! I even had to look you up, but I found out Serbia is right by Romania and Bulgaria! That's awesome! You
guys are all great! Oh, if you’re thinking about it, to the right of you is a
new poll! Go check it out and vote!
Love y’all!
